Since before the American Civil War, there has been an organized Sunday School at Burry’s Church. Every Sunday at 9:30am, we have Bible-based Sunday School classes for all age groups Sunday that focus on teaching the Bible: what God says to us through His Word, how to apply God’s Word to our lives, and how to share His Gospel Message with the world around us. We have a Beginners Class, a Primary Class, an Intermediate Class, a Confirmation Class and an Adult Class.

Each month, our Adult Sunday School class hosts a ‘song service’ with special teaching themes, times of worship through song, and a time to connect with others over coffee, tea, & doughnuts. When there is a fifth Sunday in the month, our Sunday School Team hosts a covered-dish lunch for the entire church directly after service.

Our Sunday School Team hosts several events for our community and church family each year such as a Strawberry Festival, Graduation Celebration & Picnic, a summer picnic, and Christmas caroling for the various retirement communities around us and members of our Golden-Agers Ministry.

What we are studying at the moment

On September 20 the Adult Sunday School class began a study of the prophetic Old Testament book of Daniel. We will quickly see that Daniel is far more than a collection of stories we learned as children.

Daniel is an account of God’s faithfulness to his people and promises.

Daniel is an account of God’s sovereignty over nations and rulers.

Daniel is an account of God’s sovereignty over history from the time of Daniel to the prophesied return of Jesus.

Adults and young adults are encouraged to attend and grow in our love for the Lord and a love for His inspired Word.
